Although the match was last month, Uruguay’s victory against Brazil in the South American Qualifiers still resonates. Well, the Celeste gave another blow by beating Argentina in Buenos Aires, which further enhances what was achieved in Montevideo in October. Recently, Nahitan Nández revealed how Federico Valverde helped him score Vinicius Junior that night.
In an interview with “100% Deporte” on Radio Sport 890, the Cagliari player said that the Brazilian’s teammate at Real Madrid gave him some advice on how to deal with Vini: “We were talking a lot with Fede (Valverde) and Ronald (Araújo), who has marked him quite a bit. Fede knows him and told me to mark him cleanly, but not to make him angry because he was going to play better. In the splits he apologized, told him if he was cold, if he was okay (laughs).”

Nández was not 100% physically
In addition to the curious suggestion from his compatriot, Nández said that he played against Canarinha without being physically whole. “Against Roma I had a problem in the post, I was upset all that week, I played against Colombia with the discomfort. Against Brazil it was known that he had a small injury, we made an effort and it was worth it because we won,” said the Uruguayan.
That result allowed Uruguay to realize what it is capable of, while raising many questions about the Brazilian team. La Verde-amarela lost again on its return to activity in November, when it visited Colombia in Barranquilla. That is why the next duel against Argentina can be very important for Fernando Diniz and the team.
