Under the Friday night lights at the King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh, the clash between Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr unfolded with an air of anticipation. In the opening moments, Al-Hilal showed they were not shy of their opponents goal while exploiting defensive vulnerabilities in the Al-Nassr ranks.

In the thrilling 10th minute, Al-Nassr’s Anderson Talisca orchestrated a breathtaking solo attempt, unleashing a chip that teased the goal but narrowly eluded the target.

The tides turned for the Knights of Najd in the 37th minute when Alex Telles, who had been dominating with four recoveries, two interceptions, and a flawless record in three duels, was compelled to exit the field due to an injury.

This cast a shadow over the Knights of Najd as their linchpin, reluctantly left the pitch, succumbing to the clutches of injury.

The second half witnessed a rejuvenated Al-Nassr, displaying a more assertive offensive strategy. However, it wasn’t until the 64th minute that the scoreline saw a transformation. Milinkovic-Savic’s precise header found the back of the net, granting Al-Hilal a 1-0 lead.

Al-Nassr, eager to retaliate, saw spirited attempts from Ronaldo and Mané, yet fortune eluded them. A disallowed goal for offside in the 74th minute left Ronaldo and his coach Luis Castro in visible frustration.

As the match neared its conclusion, Al-Hilal tightened their grip. Mitrović, a key figure throughout, capitalized on a corner in the 89th minute, extending the lead to 2-0. In a dramatic twist in injury time, Mitrović completed a stunning double in the 90+3rd minute, sealing a resounding 3-0 triumph for Al-Hilal.

Despite the late expulsion of Al Bulayhi, Al-Hilal fortified their position at the league’s summit, now boasting a commanding seven-point lead over Al-Nassr.
