The season’s first firing was Thiago Carpini from São Paulo after a loss to Flamengo. Vasco dismissed two coaches: Ramón Díaz after a 5-0 defeat to Criciúma and Álvaro Pacheco after a 6-1 thrashing by Flamengo in his first game.
Corinthians’ coach António Oliveira remains, despite a seven-game winless streak, saved by a recent draw with Athletico-PR.
This year’s fired coaches are:
- Fernando Diniz (Fluminense)
- Cuca (Athletico-PR)
- Ramón Díaz, Álvaro Pacheco (Vasco)
- Jair Ventura (Atlético-GO)
- Léo Condé (Vitória)
- Thiago Carpini (São Paulo)
Teams continue to swap out coaches as they aim for better results, a clear sign of the high stakes in Brazilian football.
