Cuca resigned after a 1-1 draw with Corinthians, while Fluminense fired Diniz following a 1-0 loss to Flamengo. Diniz’s tenure saw Fluminense win just once, leaving them at the bottom of the table.

The season’s first firing was Thiago Carpini from São Paulo after a loss to Flamengo. Vasco dismissed two coaches: Ramón Díaz after a 5-0 defeat to Criciúma and Álvaro Pacheco after a 6-1 thrashing by Flamengo in his first game.

Corinthians’ coach António Oliveira remains, despite a seven-game winless streak, saved by a recent draw with Athletico-PR.

This year’s fired coaches are:

  • Fernando Diniz (Fluminense)
  • Cuca (Athletico-PR)
  • Ramón Díaz, Álvaro Pacheco (Vasco)
  • Jair Ventura (Atlético-GO)
  • Léo Condé (Vitória)
  • Thiago Carpini (São Paulo)

Teams continue to swap out coaches as they aim for better results, a clear sign of the high stakes in Brazilian football.
