Brazilian club Santos increasingly believe in their ability to attract Neymar Jr back to their ranks in the future. Neymar’s career began at Santos, where he scored an impressive 138 goals in 225 games before leaving for Europe and FC Barcelona in 2013, aged just 21. He won three Brazilian league titles as well as the Copa Libertadores with Santos, establishing strong ties with the club that trained him.

Neymar’s uncertain future away from Brazil
However, the immediate future of Neymar, now 32, remains uncertain. Last summer, he left Paris Saint-Germain to join Al Hilal, a Saudi club playing in the Saudi first division. Since then, Neymar suffered a serious knee injury in October, requiring surgery, and is still recovering. Santos president Marcelo Teixeira has already hinted at the possibility of Neymar returning to his training club.
Teixeira returned to these statements but confides that the situation continues to evolve over time. “Neymar has a bond of affection, respect and gratitude towards Santos. I think a return is inevitable,” he said. However, he recognizes that a lot of things still need to fall into place, especially on the side of the player who does not seem in a hurry to return to Brazil at the moment.
