Santos has no time to lose in its goal of returning to Brazil’s top division. In this framework, the club has already announced that the person in charge of leading this objective will be Fábio Carille, who already led the team between September 2021 and February 2022, in which he achieved a poorer performance than expected.

“The commander arrives with a one-year contract with the option of one more season. Good luck, professor!”, the São Paulo institution posted on its social networks. According to the Brazilian press, Santos had to pay a fine of about 1.5 million dollars for the termination of the contract that the coach had with V-Varen Nagasaki of Japan, which he had directed since June of last year.

“I am very motivated, very happy to return to a place where I felt very good in the short time I worked. Coming back here is a great joy for me, I am very optimistic that I can do a great job,” Carille said when signing her contract.

Santos defines its squad for the 2024 season

Peixe still needs to define ups and downs in its squad for next season, which will begin with the Paulista Championship. Starting in April, they will compete in the Serie B tournament with the aim of forgetting what happened on the last date of the Brasileirao, a day in which they lost the category for the first time in history.

The financial problems of the institution and the relegation suggest that the main players of its current squad will emigrate, although the institution proved to have a rich seedbed by giving the world footballers of the stature of Pelé, Neymar and Rodrygo, among others.
