Rafael Santos Borré is already an Inter player and there he will meet again with Lucas Alario, an old acquaintance. It will be the third time that both forwards share a team, although the changes in football meant that they were rarely together on a playing field.

The Colombian, who signed a contract until December 2028, will join the Porto Alegre team before July 10, although there is still no precise date. The Argentine, meanwhile, arrived in Brazil this week and has already trained under the orders of his compatriot, Eduardo “Chacho” Coudet.

The first time they shared colors was in River, although only for 24 days in 2017. Borré’s debut in Millonario was precisely replacing Alario. In those little more than three weeks and against Instituto, an event occurred that Inter fans will want to repeat: both played side by side and both scored goals for what was a 4-1 victory.

Beyond not having much time in society, they were able to leave their mark during their time at River. Borré was the top scorer of Marcelo Gallardo’s successful cycle in the crossed red band box, with 56 scores, while Alario was second with 41.

In the middle of 2022, the Argentine striker moved from Bayer Leverkusen to Eintracht Frankfurt, where Borré was already a year ago. With the German team, the one who emerged from Deportivo Cali won the Europa League after beating Rangers of Scotland on penalties.

Alario did not have much continuity at Eintracht Frankfurt and Borré was losing prominence in the starting eleven, which led to him being loaned to Werder Bremen for one season in September of last year.
Now both will share a dressing room again at Inter. The competition for the starting position up front will be fierce, with another great attacker of South American football like Enner Valencia also in the squad.
