Brazilian legend Rai is back in the French capital after several years away from Parisian football. However, against all expectations, he did not wish to reconnect with his former club PSG but preferred to join the project of another Parisian team, Paris FC, which plays in Ligue 2. For almost a year and a half now, Rai serves as ambassador for the second division club, a choice that surprised more than one, starting with the president of Paris FC, Pierre Ferracci.

Asked about the reasons for Rai’s choice, Michel Denisot, who played a role in his arrival at Paris FC, explains that the Brazilian “wanted to participate in a project for a second club in Paris in L1”. Indeed, the French capital is the only one in Europe to have only one club playing at the highest national level. Despite the dimension taken by PSG in recent years, Parisian football still remains underdeveloped. Paris FC therefore represents for Rai the opportunity to contribute to the development of football in his adopted city, far from the spotlight of the Parc des Princes. A mission that he has fulfilled brilliantly for a year and a half as ambassador of the Boulogne-Billancourt club.
