Andrey Santos exposes the speed with which football moves today. At the age of 16 he made his professional debut at Vasco da Gama and as soon as he turned 18 his move to Chelsea was made official. The powerful London team is looking for him to add film, something he did not find at Nottingham Forest, and now he will go on loan to Racing Strasbourg.

“He is a midfielder with good vision of the game. His excellent passing allows him to break lines. His profile is very complementary to that of our current midfielders,” said Loïc Désiré, recruitment director of the French team, in an official statement.

The captain of the Brazilian Under-23 team will join his new club once the Seleçao’s participation in the Pre-Olympic Tournament being held in Venezuela ends. The team led by Ramon Menezes is in the final quadrangular that runs until February 11.

Andrey Santos seeks to add minutes in European football

Santos, who already debuted in the senior team during a friendly against Morocco, was acquired by Chelsea in 2023 for a figure close to 23 million dollars and returned on loan to Vasco da Gama.

In August last year, he was loaned out again, but this time to Premier League side Nottingham Forest. There he was not taken into account and only made two appearances with the first team in five months.

Racing de Strasbourg is in tenth position in Ligue 1 and is still alive in the French Cup. On the last day of transfers he sold his captain, goalkeeper Matz Sels, to Nottingham Forest, and hired 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐮 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐫, from Saint-Étienne, as a replacement.
