The Copa do Brasil will proceed as scheduled despite the floods in Rio Grande do Sul, the CBF has confirmed. Meanwhile, the Brasileirão has been put on hold for the next two weekends following requests from 15 Serie A teams.

Notably, Flamengo, Corinthians, Palmeiras, São Paulo, and Bragantino did not support the suspension.

Conmebol also continues with its plans, keeping the Libertadores and Sul-Americana matches on track for May 28th to 30th. Brazilian teams are set to compete as planned, except for Grêmio, which Conmebol previously excluded due to the floods.

In the Copa do Brasil, 32 teams are still in the running for the title, including four from the flood-stricken state of Rio Grande do Sul: Juventude, Inter, Grêmio, and Ypiranga.

The tournament heats up next week with the third phase of matches, featuring key contenders like Atlético-MG, Fluminense, and Palmeiras.
