Recall that in 2017, Neymar made a shift in his career by transferring from Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) for a staggering €222 million. This move ended his prolific partnership with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez at Barcelona, known as MSN, a trio that had achieved remarkable success, including a UEFA Champions League win in 2015. Neymar’s tenure at PSG, spanning six seasons, was plagued by injuries, but he still managed to play 173 games, scoring 118 goals and helping the club win 14 trophies.

Messi joined Neymar at PSG in 2021. Their time in Paris was tough, with Neymar confessing, “Lionel Messi and I went through hell in Paris. We missed Barcelona a lot.” Despite their efforts, the duo could not lead PSG to Champions League glory, although they did win the French Ligue 1 twice. Messi’s two seasons at PSG saw him play 75 games, scoring 32 goals and providing 35 assists.

The 2022-23 season marked a significant change for both stars. After winning the French Ligue 1 title, they decided to leave PSG. Messi chose to play for Inter Miami in the MLS, while Neymar moved to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia.

Earlier in his career, Neymar rose to fame as Brazil’s ‘golden boy’, leading to a highly anticipated transfer to Barcelona in 2013. There, he formed an outstanding partnership with Messi, with Neymar remarking on their strong connection.

They played together 161 times at Barcelona, scoring 56 goals and winning eight trophies. However, Neymar’s career has been frequently disrupted by injuries, including a recent ACL rupture. Despite rumors over the years, neither Messi nor Neymar returned to Barcelona.
