Neymar attended the SoFi Stadium, on the outskirts of Los Angeles, to watch Brazil’s goalless draw against Costa Rica in the opening match of the Copa América 2024. The star was accompanied by his friend, Miami Heat basketball player Jimmy Butler.

On the way to the stadium, the footballer was involved in a situation as unusual as it was funny. Without getting out of his car, he bought two Seleção jerseys from a street vendor, who initially did not recognize him.

After realizing who he was, both the vendor and two passersby quickly approached to ask for photos. The entire situation was recorded in a video that quickly went viral on the internet.

The Al Hilal footballer is still recovering from the ligament and meniscus tear in his knee that he suffered last October. He wasn’t able to recover in time for the Copa América, although he is in the final stages of getting ready to return to the field.

His presence at the SoFi Stadium did not go unnoticed. With 20 minutes left in the match, he appeared both in the official broadcast and on the stadium’s big screens, prompting chants and applause from the large Brazilian crowd.
