Carles Puyol made several headlines this week by suggesting that Vinicius Junior would get more recognition if he changed his behaviour. The words of the former Barcelona captain did not go unnoticed in the Spanish capital, where they defended the Brazilian.

Like coach Carlo Ancelotti , Nacho Fernández assured that the 23-year-old attacker is “well taken care of” at Real Madrid. “We have spoken a lot with Vinícius since he arrived at Real Madrid. Perhaps he is the type of player who feels more provoked than anyone else by the way he plays, because he always confronts his opponent and generates frustration in his rivals. As captain and other players on the team, we have spoken with him so that he is calm and focuses on playing because it is the most important thing for him and for the team,” said the defender.

Nacho clarifies to Puyol that in Madrid they are calm with Vinicius

The 33-year-old Merengue captain made it clear that the squad has already noticed progress in the former Flamengo’s attitude. Therefore, he welcomes any help that the former world champion with Spain wants to give Vini. However, he stressed that he already has support in Madrid.

“I think that little by little it is changing, it is inevitable, because it has character, that it enters into any altercation. If Puyol wants to talk to Vinícius one day, it’s up to him. If he tells you things to motivate you and help you, that’s perfect, but here he is well taken care of, we all treat him very well and we help him focus on the games, which is the most important thing,” commented Nacho.
