This announcement was made during a press conference held in the afternoon in California (evening in Brazil). Defenders Éder Militão and Guilherme Arana will be the new faces added to the team that played against the United States on June 12 in Orlando.

Strategic changes?

“We made some changes, based on the first two matches, to assess the adaptation of the players. These training sessions were crucial in testing more players. Thus, Militão and Arana, as well as Alisson, will be part of the initial composition,” said Dorival Júnior.

Brazil has been preparing intensively since May 30 for this continental competition. In addition to practices, the team played two friendlies, winning 3–2 against Mexico in Texas on June 8 and drawing 1–1 with the United States in Orlando on June 12.
