Maurício started his career at Desportivo Brasil, moved to Cruzeiro in 2018, and made significant strides at Internacional. There, he played 176 games, scored 25 goals, and provided 25 assists. His ability to play centrally and on the flanks marked him as a versatile midfielder.

Upon joining Palmeiras, Maurício shared his enthusiasm. “It’s a dream come true to join such a competitive club,” he said, eager to start training and playing. He also emphasized his readiness to adapt to Coach Abel’s strategies and contribute in any position needed.
His international play includes stints with Brazil’s Under-18, Under-20, and Under-23 teams. Maurício recently shined in the Pre-Olympics, starting in six games. He discussed his bond with teammate Endrick, noting how they shared insights about playing for Palmeiras. “When I was about to join, I joked with Endrick about him leaving just as I was arriving,” he said, reflecting their strong relationship.
