Pereira, expressing his dissatisfaction with his situation at the Riyadh-based club, said, “I asked to leave Al Hilal because I no longer enjoy playing football.” Despite his struggles, Pereira had a productive stint at Al Hilal, making 42 appearances, scoring three goals, and assisting in 15 others. He helped the club win four major trophies, including the AFC Champions League and the Saudi League.
After leaving Al Hilal, Pereira returned to Brazil to play for Cruzeiro, where he has made 16 appearances, scoring two goals and providing seven assists.
This new chapter may just be what Pereira needs to rediscover the joy in football, moving beyond the shadows that once marred his career.
