In an upcoming Sunday broadcast on CNN Esportes S/A , she stated, “If I go to the Olympics, I will enjoy every moment because this is definitely my last year with the national team.”

At 38, Marta feels ready to step away, confident in the young talent poised to take over. “This is my last year, and I can already confirm it here,” she affirmed. “The time has come.”
Marta has an illustrious record, with appearances in five Olympic Games and two silver medals. She also won the Pan American Games twice and secured three Copa América titles. Notably, she holds the all-time scoring record in World Cup history with 17 goals.
