City already coveted Paquetá last summer but had to give up due to an FA investigation into accusations of illegal betting. However, the 26-year-old continues to cooperate with the authorities while maintaining a high standard of play with West Ham. This season, he has scored 8 goals and provided 7 assists in all competitions, confirming his status as a key player.

With a contract running until 2027 and an option for an additional year, West Ham should not easily let go of their flagship offensive asset. To convince the Hammers, City will probably have to match the offer of 85 million euros made last summer.
If the departure of Kevin De Bruyne is the subject of persistent rumors, Pep Guardiola perhaps sees in Paquetá the ideal successor to the Belgian maestro. At only 25 years old, the Brazilian already combines technique, vision of the game and finishing which make him the perfect heir. His versatility in midfield would be a valuable asset for the Catalan coach.
Remembering Zagallo
Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.
