Despite the usual preference for Marquinhos, the versatile 20-year-old Brazilian defender, with only 2 matches in the Champions League this season, delivered a solid copy.
Asked about his rapid integration into the team since his arrival during the winter transfer window, Beraldo spoke with satisfaction: “ I think it was an excellent performance. The whole team knew how to play their role in the best possible way so that we could leave with qualification this evening. I feel really good, but it’s not just me, it’s the whole team who managed to fulfill their role very well. Everyone managed to execute well what the coach gave us and we managed to get the victory. I am very happy to play in the Champions League and now, being able to play in the quarter-finals is a dream come true ,” the player told the capital club’s media.
He now has 12 matches played in all competitions to his credit.
