The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) announced the nominees for the awards it gives annually and there is a large Brazilian presence in the different categories. Vitor Roque, Endrick, Vinicius and Fernando Diniz are some of the names recognized by the institution that is in charge of systematizing football documentation.
The Brazilian presence is strong in the category of best U-20 footballer. There are Vitor Roque, from Athletico Paranaense and soon to be at FC Barcelona, as well as Endrick, champion with Palmeiras and future Real Madrid player, and Sávio, having a great season at Girona.

On the same shortlist are Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich), Gavi (FC Barcelona) and Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United), just to name a few.
As for the nominees for best player, there is only one Brazilian, Vinicius Junior, the Merengue winger, but Germán Cano, the scorer for Fluminense, champion of the Copa Libertadores, also appears. Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland lead, without surprises, the list.
Two Brazilian goalkeepers, among the best
Ederson, from Manchester City, and Alisson, from Liverpool, were included in the best goalkeeper category. The Argentine Emiliano “Dibu” Martínez of Aston Villa and the Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma, of Paris Saint-Germain, were also included.

Meanwhile, Fernando Diniz is nominated for best coach, who has just had a historic campaign with Fluminense and was named interim coach of the Brazil national team. Also recognized was the Portuguese Luis Castro, who coached Botagofo before his resounding fall at Brasileirao and is now at Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
The winners of these awards, which have been given annually since 1987, will be announced on January 1, 2024.
