Aged only 22, Brazilian Martinelli is having a convincing season with the Gunners. In 28 appearances in all competitions, he scored 7 goals and delivered 3 assists, demonstrating the full extent of his offensive talent. His good performances with Arsenal coupled with his 9 caps with Brazil caught the eye of Barça.
According to sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo, FC Barcelona have identified Martinelli as a priority target to strengthen their attack. Estimated at 100 million euros by Arsenal, the player is only under contract until June 2027 with the London club. Although contractually bound, he would not have any release clause, which leaves a door open for Barça to negotiate his transfer.
