The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has suspended rounds 7 and 8 of the Brasileirão in response to the devastating floods in Rio Grande do Sul, with the league set to resume on June 1.
This suspension aligns with the halted games of local teams—Grêmio, Internacional, and Juventude—until May 27. Following a majority agreement, 15 of the 20 Serie A clubs supported this decision.

CBF has scheduled an Extraordinary Technical Council meeting for Serie A on May 27 to address the season’s continuation, player registrations, legal issues, and broadcasting rights.
The meeting will include presidents from the ten federations with clubs in the series, emphasizing the collaborative effort needed to manage the league’s challenges.
