Marquinhos is now with his head set on the Brazil U-23 team that seeks to guarantee one of the two tickets to the Olympic Games granted by the Pre-Olympic Tournament. But without a place in the English Arsenal, owner of his transfer, his name is now also linked to Fluminense in order to reinforce the lead in the 2024 season.

The talks for the 20-year-old youth player, formerly of São Paulo, are very advanced and the clubs are negotiating a loan that will include a purchase option, according to what was reported by journalist Felipe Cardoso and confirmed by the Globo network. The figures of this possible operation were not revealed.

In the middle of 2022 and at only 19 years old, Marquinhos made the big leap to Europe. With Arsenal he scored a goal and provided an assist in six appearances, before being loaned out to Norwich City first and FC Nantes during the last half-year.

In the Ligue 1 club the player did not have the expected participation: he played only 150 minutes spread over seven games. By expressing his desire to participate in the Venezuela Pre-Olympic, he left the team that is in 13th place in the French tournament and formally returned to the Gunners.

According to the Brazilian press, his teammates in Canarinha who play for Fluminense, Alexsander and John Kennedy, are helping in the efforts for Marquinhos to defend the colors of the last Copa Libertadores champion.
