There’s speculation about his return to the Premier League, with Chelsea showing interest. The club seeks an experienced forward to bolster or replace their young attacking lineup of Nkunku, Jackson, and Broja.
Johnson acknowledges Firmino’s talent but questions his suitability as Chelsea’s primary striker.
He says,
“Roberto is a bloody great player and he’s a Liverpool legend, but he’s not going to get you 20 goals a season.”
Johnson appreciates Firmino’s skill in creating opportunities and uniting the team’s offensive play. He adds, “Firmino’s always looking to link up with players and is more of a number ten than a number nine.” However, he believes that Chelsea needs not just Firmino’s creative abilities but also a prolific scorer. Johnson suggests that acquiring Firmino and a dedicated goalscorer would be an excellent strategy for Chelsea, enhancing their attacking potential.
