The deal includes €40 million up front, with an extra €20 million based on easy targets and €4 million for tougher ones. Palmeiras keeps 70% of the fee, with the rest going to Estêvão and his family.
Though still 17, Estêvão will join Chelsea after he turns 18 next April. He will stay at Palmeiras until after the 2025 Club World Cup, set for June to July.
The clubs have yet to sign off, but Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira views the deal as final. In his first pro year, Estêvão has played 21 games, started 11, and notched three goals and three assists, making a strong early mark.
