Douglas Luiz, the 25-year-old midfield sensation, is the crown jewel of Villa’s roster, attracting attention from Arsenal and other football clubs. The Gunners, having pursued Luiz in previous transfer windows, faced a flat-out refusal from Villa during their last attempt in January.

However, Villa hinted at a willingness to reconsider their stance for an ‘extraordinary’ fee.

In a bid to ward off consistent interest, Aston Villa firmly placed an exorbitant £110 million (€128m) price tag on Luiz, as exclusively disclosed by FootballTransfers. Arsenal, recognizing Luiz’s prowess, but unwilling to serene for the astronomical figure, showed a readiness to go as high as £60 million.

Now, speculation suggests that Villa might entertain a transfer for approximately £80 million if Luiz actively pushes for a move.

Is Douglas Luiz ready to leave Aston Villa?

Yet, amid the transfer drama, Villa remains resolute in their refusal to part ways with their star midfielder, particularly in the midst of a compelling Champions League qualification campaign. And Luiz, being at the center of transfer talks, told Sky Sports that he maintains an unwavering focus on Aston Villa, dismissing the distractions.

“I am very happy to hear the stories but I am here at Aston Villa. My focus is totally here. I don’t spend a lot of time looking at the stories. I see them, but I don’t focus on that and I’m not looking at it every day. My head is here at Aston Villa.”

Reflecting on his journey, Luiz expressed deep gratitude towards Aston Villa, the club that welcomed him to England in 2019. He emphasized his emotional connection to the club, stating,

“Aston Villa is a club that opened its doors to me when I came to England, so I have a lot of affection and a lot of love for it”
