The deal is nearly complete, with Costa, aged 33, expected to sign a contract that would keep him at the Turkish club until June 2026.

Costa, now without a team, last played for the Los Angeles Galaxy. During his tenure there, he showcased his talents in 51 matches and managed to score eight goals. His career is marked by remarkable stints at Bayern Munich and Juventus, where he achieved significant success and won several championships.

Additionally, he has had impactful periods at Shakhtar Donetsk and Gremio, his original team. Samsunspor is currently in a challenging phase in the Turkish Super Lig. They stand at sixteenth place after 20 matches, fighting diligently to maintain their position in the top tier of Turkish football.
