The São Paulo Court has mandated a R$14 million seizure from Corinthians due to unpaid image rights for four ex-players: Ederson, Otero, Cazares, and Yago. Judge Fábio Rogério Bojo Pellegrino issued the order this Tuesday, enabling Corinthians to appeal. The court demands an immediate block on the club’s funds.

Should these funds prove insufficient, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) will need to halt transfers for five Corinthians players—Wesley, Yuri Alberto, Pedro Raul, Guilherme Biro, and Giovane—until the debt clears.
What happened?
The debt originated in 2020 during Andrés Sanchez’s presidency and underwent renegotiation under former president Duilio Monteiro Alves last year. The agreement to settle the original R$9.3 million through seven R$1.3 million installments failed.
Despite these financial disputes, businessman André Cury, who manages the careers of the involved athletes, remains engaged with Corinthians. He recently brokered deals to bring coach Ramón Díaz and midfielder Charles to the club.
