Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals are set: fixtures and schedules

Five Brazilian teams are competing in the round of sixteen of the continental tournament.

The first-leg matches of the Copa Sudamericana round of sixteen produced very close results and open endings for the return matches taking place next week. Racing (Argentina) is the only team that is very close to advancing to the quarter-finals with its 2-0 away win against Huachipato (Chile).

The action resumes on Tuesday with the decision on that match-up and, in the second match of the day, Corinthians will face Bragantino. Starting at 21:30 (Brasilia time), the Neo Química Arena will be the venue where the hosts will try to defend the 2-1 lead obtained in the first leg.

On Wednesday, starting at 19:00 (Brasilia time), Fortaleza seeks to seal its ticket as they host Rosario Central after a 1-1 draw in the first match. At Arena Castelão, Juan Pablo Vojvoda’s team has gone 18 matches unbeaten: their last defeat was on May 23 in a Copa do Nordeste match.

The Sudamericana continues on Thursday with the match starting at 19:00 (Brasilia time) between Belgrano and Athletico Paranense in Córdoba, Argentina. In the first leg, the Brazilian team achieved a hard-fought 2-1 victory after conceding a goal in the opening minute.

Later that day, at 21:30, the clash between Cruzeiro and Boca Juniors begins. At La Bombonera, the Argentine team won 1-0 thanks to a goal by Edinson Cavani, so everything will be decided in Belo Horizonte.
