The most important continental national team tournament on the American continent is about to fall. After the draw, all the teams already know who their rivals will be during the group stage, and the two clear favorites to win the title, Brazil and Argentina, already know the roadmap to follow to reach the final, since that, being the head of the group, they could only collide with each other in a hypothetical final.

Brazil could face Uruguay in the quarterfinals or semis and Argentina alone in a hypothetical final
The Brazilian team leads Group D of the 2024 Copa América and will have to face the always complicated Colombian National Team, who recently handed them a painful defeat in Barranquilla, against Paraguay and against the sixth classified team in the CONCACAF process.
For its part, Argentina is the head of Group A, being on the other side of the direct elimination table, and will have to face Peru, Chile and the fifth-ranked team in CONCACAF in the group stage of the continental tournament.

As was already known before the draw was made, the organization of the group stage and the eventual knockout phase would only allow Brazil and Argentina to meet in a hypothetical final. Why is this?
The teams that will advance to the quarterfinals will be the first and second in each group and the matches are organized to take place as follows:
In the quarterfinals, on this side of the table, the 1st and 2nd of Group A and B will collide, respectively.
- 1st. Group A vs 2nd. B Group
- 1st. Group B vs 2nd. Group A
On the other hand, 1st and 2nd in groups C and D will clash for the ticket to the semifinals.
- 1st. Group C vs 2nd. Group D
- 1st. Group D vs 2nd. Group C
In this way, in the semifinals only teams from that same bracket could collide, thus avoiding a crossover between Argentina and Brazil. However, the Brazilian team could have a tough rival in the quarterfinals or semifinals, since depending on the place in the table in which they both finish the group stage, Brazil could face Uruguay, one of its executioners in the last qualifying matches.
If they pass all the phases, Brazil and Argentina could repeat the same final of the 2021 Copa América in Miami, this being the venue for the grand final of the continental tournament, which will define its champion on July 14.
