Nottingham Forest announced the arrival of goalkeeper Carlos Miguel from Corinthians after he signed a four-year contract. Twice European champions in 1979 and 1980, the club will be playing its third consecutive season in the Premier League.
“I am very happy and honored to represent this club,” said the goalkeeper, according to an official statement. “Just seeing the stadium and feeling the energy here makes me eager to get on the field and help the team win,” he added.

“My main goal is to become an important member of this team, a giant club in football history. I want a place in the museum like the others,” stated the player. Standing tall at 2.04 meters, he will face tough competition for the position from American Matt Turner.

Trained in the youth academies of Flamengo and Internacional, he was loaned to Santa Cruz and Boa Esporte, in the lower divisions of Brazil. He found the most consistent playing time at Corinthians, a club he joined in 2021.
Carlos Miguel will share the locker room with two other Brazilians: Danilo and Murillo, although the central defender is sought after by several clubs and could transfer in this window. Forest finished 17th last season, six points above the relegation zone, and will start the next season on August 17th when they host Bournemouth.
