FIFA has just updated its global soccer team rankings for the first time this year, and the results are in. The top 10 hasn’t changed since last year, which means the best teams are still holding strong. Why no changes at the top? Well, it’s because the big teams from Europe and South America, who hold the top spots, haven’t played yet this year.

Let’s get to the heart of it — the top 10. They’ve been steady since December 2023. It’s like a who’s who of soccer royalty. Argentina is sitting pretty at number one, with France (2nd), England (3rd), Belgium (4th), and Brazil (5th) right on their heels. Argentina’s success isn’t just luck; they’ve been dominating the South American World Cup qualifiers for 2026, proving they’re not to be messed with.

Beyond South America and Europe

But it’s not just about the top dogs. Jordan made waves by jumping 17 spots to 70th after their impressive run in Asia. Nigeria wasn’t far behind, moving up 14 places to 28th thanks to their performance in Africa. And Morocco? They’ve outpaced the United States, landing at 12th place, nestled between Uruguay and Croatia.

Now, where did we see some action? The African Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup, that’s where. Qatar, the champions of the Asian Cup, really shook things up. They soared up the rankings, moving from 58th all the way to 37th place.

Here’s a quick rundown of the top 10 and their points:

1. Argentina – 1855.20
2. France – 1845.44
3. England – 1800.05
4. Belgium – 1798.46
