At first, everyone thought, “Goal by Gabriel!” The official data providers said so. But, here’s where it gets interesting. The Premier League panel reviewed the goal and their first call was “No, it wasn’t Gabriel’s goal. It was an own goal by Henderson.”

You can imagine, Arsenal wasn’t too happy about that. They appealed. This meant another panel got involved – the Premier League’s Goal Accreditation Appeals Panel. After some pondering, this panel came to a different conclusion. They said, “Let’s give this one to Gabriel.” And so, the goal was back in his name. But here’s a twist – none of this affects Fantasy Premier League points. The FPL rules are clear. Points can change up to an hour after the day’s last game. Once they’re updated, that’s it. No more changes.
So, a bit of drama, a bit of back and forth, but in the end, Gabriel got his goal.
