Arsenal’s Brazilian footballers were key in the 5-0 win over Crystal Palace that allowed them to end a negative streak of two defeats in a row and regain their place on the Premier League podium. The London team is mathematically third with 43 points, the same number of points as Manchester City (second and with one game less) and Aston Villa (in fourth position).

The scoring at Emirates Stadium was opened by Seleção centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes with a header after a corner kick. The defender also scored the second goal for the Gunners: his shot led to what ended up being a goal against Dean Henderson.

A victory to gain momentum at the top

Arsenal arrived as the leader of the Premier League before Christmas, but since then they suffered an earthquake with three defeats, a draw and a single victory. In addition to all this, they were left out of the FA Cup in the third round loss against Liverpool .

The team led by Mikel Arteta was two points behind the leader Liverpool and will face Nottingham Forest on the next day. In a month, on February 21, they will visit Porto at the start of the Champions League round of 16.
