Manchester United are in the midst of a squad reshuffle after a season in which they finished eighth in the Premier League and were only saved by winning the FA Cup. In that sense, there was speculation about Antony’s departure, but his agent said the player’s plan is to stay.
The Brazilian only scored three goals and provided two assists in the entire last season. A performance far from what was expected based on the almost 100 million euros paid to sign him in August 2022.

“His last season was not a good one,” admitted coach Erik ten Hag, who asked to sign the winger two years ago, whom he knows very well from having coached him at Ajax. “I remain convinced that Antony has the potential to play for this club,” the Dutchman said in the same interview.
Amid rumours of an exit in this transfer window, his agent said the plan is to stay and fight for a place in the first team. “He wants to stay, he is only focused on Manchester United. We have already spoken about it with the club,” he told transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The winger joined the rest of the squad on July 8 for the start of pre-season. He was not even on the bench in the two friendlies this month against Rangers (Scotland) and Rosenborg (Norway), so it remains to be seen whether he will get minutes again in the next match: the duel against Arsenal, on July 27.
