The São Paulo Police wrapped up their investigation this Monday, opting not to indict Antony. Despite this, the case remains under scrutiny as the final report, including testimony from 19 witnesses and evidence collected, is set to be reviewed by the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

While Antony’s defense team expressed confidence throughout the process, insisting on his innocence, the decision not to indict has been met with surprise and criticism from Cavallin’s legal team. They have raised concerns about the investigation’s pace and thoroughness, particularly highlighting Antony’s refusal to surrender his phone for examination.

What are the accusations against Antony?

In her initial complaint, Cavallin, a DJ and digital influencer, detailed a series of violent encounters with Antony spanning nearly two years, including instances where she was physically removed from a nightclub and subjected to aggressive behavior that resulted in a miscarriage.

She also recounted later incidents in England, where the violence allegedly continued, leading her to undergo surgery due to injuries sustained.

Cavallin’s accusations don’t stop at physical abuse. She also reported threats to her life, mentioning a chilling phone call where Antony allegedly threatened her life if he saw her with someone else. These claims paint a picture of a man who could potentially escalate his threats into more severe actions.

As the English police extend their investigation with no clear end in sight, the football world watches closely. Antony’s case not only challenges his personal and professional life but also puts a spotlight on how clubs and authorities handle serious allegations against high-profile athletes.
