Jurgen Klopp, the Liverpool coach, delivered somber news about the team’s key players. Following their intense 1-1 battle against Manchester City, goalkeeper Alisson Becker and striker Diogo Jota found themselves sidelined due to injuries, a revelation made on Wednesday. The absence of these crucial players would be felt in the upcoming matches, beginning with the Europa League face-off against Linz scheduled for Thursday (Today) at 9 p.m.

Klopp, expressing concern, emphasized,

“Both are out. Ali (Becker) is a little worse, we have to see. He will not play tomorrow (Thursday), not Sunday and probably not the following week. Then everything should be better”

Delving into the specifics, Klopp shed light on Diogo Jota’s condition, stating, “Diogo will take a little more time. We don’t know exactly how long, but it’s a little more serious.” The Portuguese international, aged 26, had to exit the field in the 54th minute during the clash at the Etihad Stadium, while Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson, 31, battled through a hamstring problem late in the game.

Looking ahead, Liverpool faces a challenging schedule, including three Premier League matches in six days. After the Linz encounter, they are set to play Fulham at home, followed by away fixtures against Sheffield United and Crystal Palace.

Klopp hinted at a potential return for Alisson in the match against Manchester United at Anfield on December 17. In the absence of the Brazilian goalkeeper, Caoimhin Kelleher, with limited appearances this season, is expected to step into the role, including the crucial Europa League match.
