Following the team’s recent achievement as a two-time champion of Brazil, Ferreira engaged in a comprehensive meeting with Palmeiras’ president, Leila Pereira. Palmeiras, in their official communication on social media, stated Ferreira’s commitment by highlighting the existence of his contract until December 2024. Despite his undeniable success, Ferreira openly acknowledged the taxing toll on his health, both physically and mentally, just a month ago. In contemplating his future, he hinted at the possibility of taking a step back from the Allianz Parque arena to safeguard his well-being.
In a moment of reflection, Ferreira emphasized the need for careful consideration regarding his continued involvement in football. He highlighted the detrimental impact on health over the years, stating, “I have to think very carefully about what I want because football here does not give health to anybody. If you have doubts, look at me three years ago and look at me now. Something will have to change.”
