Brazilian Hugo Farias has set a new Guinness World Record by running 366 marathons in 366 days, from August 28, 2022, to August 28, 2023. He covered 15,443 kilometers, a distance equal to a trip from Americana, São Paulo to Siberia.
Farias dedicated his achievement to his family and the team that supported him. After leaving a 20-year tech career, he started the “Purpose Project” in Americana to inspire others.

Hugo Farias biography
Hugo Farias, from São Paulo, Brazil, set a Guinness World Record by running 366 marathons in 366 consecutive days starting on August 28, 2022.
His “Projeto Propósito” began after he left a tech sales position at IBM to show what can be achieved with dedication and teamwork. The project demanded thorough planning and a diverse support team of health professionals.
Farias has also authored a book, “Projeto Propósito: Nunca é tarde para escrever uma nova história” (It’s Never Too Late to Write a New Story), detailing his experiences and insights.
Beyond his ultrarunning record, Farias is deeply engaged in community activities, hosting events and creating new challenges to motivate others.
