With the Paris 2024 Olympics on the horizon, canoeist Isaquias Queiroz and rugby 7’s Raquel Kochhann are set to carry Brazil’s flag at the opening ceremony on July 22.
This announcement continues a long-standing tradition that started with Guilherme Paraense at the 1920 Antwerp Olympics.
Not only did Paraense serve as the first flag bearer, but he also won Brazil’s first Olympic gold medal in sport shooting.
