Football is a battle, yet some teams find themselves consistently on the back foot. Such is the case with Ituano FC in the 2024 Campeonato Paulista, where they’ve secured just one win in 12 games, a stark reminder of how tough the competition can be.

This season marks Ituano’s worst in over 40 years, characterized by a record-breaking streak of eight consecutive defeats. This troubling performance places them just above Audax-RJ, which has not managed a single win in 15 matches, holding a dismal success rate of 2.2%.

The struggles aren’t confined to these two teams; Santo André also has only one win to its name. Meanwhile, several other teams across the country’s top four divisions have scraped together just two wins, including Novo Hamburgo, Cametá-PA, Serra, Avenida, Iporá, Atlético-CE, Democrat, and Patrocinense.

Even in Serie B, excluding Ituano, Guarani finds itself with only three wins from 16 matches.

Controversies have also marred Ituano’s season. Management criticism and player incidents have drawn attention away from play, complicating the team’s efforts to find form. The next challenge for Ituano is a clash against Sport, the leaders of Serie B, who boast a perfect success rate.

This upcoming match at the Novelli Júnior stadium offers Ituano a crucial opportunity to alter their course and garner some much-needed points.
