Brazil won its last possible medal at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games after the bronze medal won by the women’s volleyball team, thus adding its twentieth Olympic medal, allowing the country to close the tournament with its second-best participation in history in terms of number of medals.

However, this is also the edition in which Brazil has won the fewest gold medals since London 2012, a tournament in which it also won just three gold medals.

The 21 medals won at Tokyo 2020 (an edition held in 2021 due to the pandemic) remain the ceiling for the Brazilian Olympic Committee at the summer Olympics, but what was achieved in Paris remains, in terms of numbers, one of the best overall performances of Brazil in its Olympic history.
