Friday is highlighted by the grand opening ceremony of the Olympic Games. Here is the program to follow:
- 12:00 p.m .: Start of the festivities in the center of Paris.
- 7:30pm : Opening Ceremony. This edition is particularly special because it takes place in the beautiful setting of the Rio Sena, instead of a traditionally closed stadium. Expect a spectacular parade of 205 delegations on 85 boats, on a 6km route. The ceremony will feature world-renowned performances, including a duet between Celine Dion and Lady Gaga performing “La Vie en Rose”.
- 00:15 (July 27) : “Olympic Zone” – A program that will cover the first highlights of the competitions.
With 45,000 security personnel deployed and 71 giant screens installed along the route to ensure everyone has a spectacular view of the event, the opening ceremony promises to be an unforgettable moment.
