It’s been a year since Neymar joined Al-Hilal, and what a year it’s been. When he signed on for a staggering 90 million euros, fans expected fireworks.

Instead, they got a fizzle, courtesy of a nasty knee injury that’s kept him off the field for most of the season.

Since his move in 2023, Neymar has played just five games. In those appearances, he managed one goal and two assists.

The injury happened during a World Cup qualifier against Uruguay last October, and it was a bad one: a ruptured ACL and damaged meniscus in his left knee.

Neymar’s been out of the game for 41 matches this season, and that’s a tough pill to swallow for Al-Hilal, who really banked on him making a big impact. But there’s a silver lining—Neymar’s getting back in shape. He’s been training hard at Al-Hilal’s camp, gearing up for a comeback in September.

With his contract running until June 2025, the clock’s ticking. Al-Hilal and their fans are itching to see if Neymar can turn things around. After all, with such a big investment riding on his shoulders, the next few months could be make-or-break.
